(COVID Response) Research and Data Analyst

Do you have a passion for public health in Maine? Medical Care Development, Inc. (MCD), a non-profit, public health services organization, is accepting applications for two public health professionals to join our team and serve as a Research and Data Analyst working with the State of Maine CDC COVID Response Program (The Department). This position will provide informatics coordination services for the COVID-19 data. This full-time 40-hour per week position will be housed at the Maine CDC office in Augusta. This is a one-year grant-funded project. This position is eligible for MCD’s benefit package.


Essential Job Functions:

 Conducting data cleaning, data merging, and data quality assurance checks.
 Provide data focused support in reviewing, analyzing, evaluating, and organizing data.
 Perform data validation and cleaning of data from incoming external files and data sources.
 Provide statistical and analysis support to Epidemiology team.
 Assist in responding to data requests.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Required:
• A Bachelor’s degree in public health Informatics, data management, math, statistics, or business and two (2) years relevant work experience in data analysis or informatics.
• Expert user in Microsoft, particularly Excel, and preferably, knowledge of SQL Server, SSIS, and Microsoft Access.
• Proficient user of database management systems with working knowledge of clinical program analytics software packages, such as SAS, SPSS, R, STATA is preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, including close attention to data accuracy.
