Kids Oral Health Partnership (KOHP)

MCD Public Health designed and implemented the Kids Oral Health Partnership (KOHP) between 2007-2011. For four years, the Partnership engaged and trained non-dental providers, including medical and child care providers, for better oral health outcomes in very young children. MCD Public Health developed a curriculum and materials, and provided training and tools for oral health risk assessment, fluoride varnish application, culturally and linguistically appropriate materials for family guidance, and help in referring to dental providers. Today, KOHP maintains a website of training resources for improving the oral health of young children and continues to promote related efforts in Maine.
